Wudu — Ablution

The step-by-step method of performing Wudu as taught by the Prophet ﷺ.

1. Intention (Niyyah)
Silently intend in your heart that you are performing Wudu for purity and prayer.
دل میں پاکی اور نماز کے لیے وضو کرنے کی نیت کریں۔

2. Bismillah
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ
Bismillāh
Say Bismillāh before beginning.
بسم اللہ پڑھ کر آغاز کریں۔

3. Wash the hands (3 times)
Wash both hands up to the wrists three times, between the fingers.
دونوں ہاتھ گٹوں تک تین مرتبہ دھوئیں، انگلیوں کے درمیان بھی۔

4. Rinse the mouth (3 times)
Take water into the mouth, swirl it, and spit it out three times.
منہ میں پانی لے کر تین بار کلی کریں۔

5. Sniff water into the nose (3 times)
Draw water into the nostrils with the right hand and blow it out with the left.
دائیں ہاتھ سے ناک میں پانی کھینچیں اور بائیں سے ناک صاف کریں، تین مرتبہ۔

6. Wash the face (3 times)
Wash the entire face — from the hairline to the chin, from ear to ear — three times.
پورا چہرہ (پیشانی سے ٹھوڑی تک، کان سے کان تک) تین بار دھوئیں۔

7. Wash the arms (3 times)
Wash the right arm from the fingertips to the elbow three times, then the left.
دائیں بازو کو انگلیوں سے کہنی تک تین بار دھوئیں، پھر بایاں۔

8. Wipe the head (Masah)
Wet the hands and wipe the head once, from front to back and back to front.
ہاتھ گیلے کر کے سر کا مسح کریں — پیشانی سے پیچھے اور واپس آگے۔

9. Wipe the ears
Insert the index fingers into the ears and pass the thumbs behind the ears.
شہادت کی انگلیاں کانوں کے اندر اور انگوٹھے کانوں کے پیچھے پھیریں۔

10. Wash the feet (3 times)
Wash the right foot to the ankles three times, then the left, between the toes.
دایاں پاؤں ٹخنوں تک تین بار دھوئیں، پھر بایاں، انگلیوں کے درمیان بھی۔

Dua after Wudu
اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لَّآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهٗ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهٗ ، وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهٗ وَرَسُوْلُهٗ
Ash-hadu an lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, wa ash-hadu anna Muḥammadan ‘abduhū wa rasūluh.
I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.
میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور محمد ﷺ اس کے بندے اور رسول ہیں۔
